Ice Rink & Sports Facility Expertise

Mia Rose Holdings has uniquely extensive experience in ice rink and sports facility development and construction built from founder Tom Kaiman’s professional career in hockey. In fact, his first construction challenge was to design and build the St. Louis Blues Practice Facility for an Engineering News Record Top 400 Midwest Contractor.

Other projects include the two-sheet facility at the St. Peters Rec-Plex and the Pacific Ice Rink, new ice surface installation for the City of Brentwood, and the Maryville University Hockey Center, a state-of-the-art ice and multi-sport facility.

We are passionate about helping youth and adult athletes have the sports facilities they deserve and developed the Chesterfield Sports Complex volleyball and basketball facility. The state-of-the-art facility is among the Top 10% of elite youth sports facilities in the United States. Tom Kaiman sits on the Chesterfield Sports Association board to help ensure long-term sustainability.

Tom Kaiman: My Hockey Journey

In Dayton, Ohio at the age of 10 years old, I followed in my older brother’s footsteps and started playing the amazing sport of ice hockey. The sport of hockey has taught me so many life lessons and connected me with so many great people along the way. There is a high level of trust and integrity between hockey players and when hockey players shake hands, the hockey handshake is as good as gold.

Growing up playing hockey in both Dayton and St. Louis, I was very fortunate to play Junior Hockey (Jr. Blues and Sting in St. Louis), NCAA Div 1 College Hockey in the WCHA for Michigan Tech and ultimately playing Professional Hockey in the ECHL (Arkansas Riverblades/Baton Rouge Kingfish) and the AHL (Lowell Lockmonsters). While playing hockey at Michigan Tech during my 4 year college career, I received my Bachelors in Civil Engineering. After finishing my professional hockey career my first real estate development project was the New Practice Facility for the St. Louis Blues back in 2003.

Through developing 7 sheets of ice in my career, my passion for the sport of hockey and my business model of real estate development have been running a parallel course for most of my life. I believe that hockey is the best sport in the world. It has shaped everything I do in life and continues to inspire our passion to develop sustainable facilities for the next generation of players!
