Julie Sanford never expected a career in real estate and property management. A
graphic design major who began her career marketing and later developing
senior living communities, Sanford in April 2025 became a principal in several
companies led by real estate developers Tom Kaiman and Jim Cook. Kaiman, a
former hockey pro turned developer, and Cook, an Imo’s Pizza franchisee and
serial entrepreneur, are best known for their apartment development firm Mia
Rose Holdings, which develops apartments in the St. Louis region, as well as
northwest Arkansas, suburban Indianapolis and Dallas, Texas.
Their growing roster of companies now includes property management venture
Capital Eleven Management, business acquisition firm Otter & Co. and real
estate holding firm Lou Min Holdings. As president of Capital Eleven, Sanford
has helped grow it from two employees a year ago to more than 45, while
expanding into multiple states. The focus of the next year will be growing
Capital Eleven’s third-party management.
